IMAG 2380 - Radiation Safety Course


Description
This course is an annual certification course which is required in order to perform testing and maintenance on X-ray systems. The duration of this course is approximately two hours, after which students will be able to:
1. Understand the history of radiation
2. Explain sources of radiation and their dangers
3. Discuss the properties of X-rays and the potential for bodily harm and danger
4. Understand and explain ionization and it’s natural and manmade sources
5. Understand the ALARA principle
6. Discuss Time, Distance, Shielding and how it affects radiation exposure X
7. Identify the agencies that regular and enforce radiation safety
