IMAG 2385 - MRI Safety


Description
The MR Safety course will provide the necessary information to safely perform service procedures on a MR system in and around the MR suite or mobile van. Upon completion of this course the service engineer will be able to identify the hazards when performing MR service activities and precautions that must be taken when working around highly magnetic fields.After this course students will be able to:
1. Understand magnet theory and overview.
2. Understand the potential hazards when working around magnetic fields.
3. Understand what the fringe field is and precautions that must be taken.
4. Identify the ferrous devices of a MR system and the proper procedure for replacing and handling these devices.
5. Identify steps to follow in the event a ferrous item becomes attached to the magnet.
6. Identify one or more alternative methods for emergency ramp down of the magnet.
7. Understand the cryogenic liquids associated with a superconducting magnet.
