IMAG 2310 - Principles of Injector Service (IMAG2310)

Description
The medical contrast Injector course is designed for Imaging Technicians seeking the skills and
knowledge necessary to maintain optimal performance of contrast injector devices. The course includes
one-day of online distance learning training. It includes a survey of injector products; an examination of
injector components; an exploration of normal operations; approaches to preventative maintenances,
checks, and services; the 5 most common problems associated with injector functions; and a survey of
test equipment.

Course Objectives:
1. Identify the theoretical basis for injectors operations and research topics
associated with advanced imaging technology.
2. Identify the major and minor systems, sub-systems, and components of injector
devices; locate system operator controls.
3. Identify the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s); recognize restrictions
and limitations imposed on field service technicians and additional sources for
preventative maintenance, checks, services, and repair support.
4. Identify and employ the appropriate test equipment associated with contrast
injector preventive maintenance, checks and services.
5. Establish a 'First Look' checklist for examining medical injector devices which
identifies additional service and support resources.
6. Implement the appropriate procedures to set up and place an injector device into
normal operations; correctly identify normal systems operations parameters.
7. Identify operational and maintenance issues associated with injector
malfunctions; recognize and correct the five most common malfunctions.
8. Perform Preventative Maintenance, Checks, and Services on an injector and
replace field replaceable components; distinguish between Original Equipment
Manufacturer (OEM) restricted services and maintenance and that which can be
performed by non-OEM personnel.
9. Resolve malfunctions that can be identified through onsite performance testing
